Featuring the best mariachi adn folklorico in the Valley, local ensembles, including the Skagit Valley College and Mount Vernon High School mariachi bands, perform a concert celebrating the music from Mexico.
Mariachi music has its roots in rural communities throughout western MExico dating back to the 18th century. Gaining widespread popularity in Guadalajara and Mexico City in the mid-1900's, the genre is considered the quintessentail folk music of Mexico - a cultural celebration of Mexico for all generations.
