Nothing says “Happy Holidays” quite like Christmas lights twinkling off the brassy bell of a tuba! This Christmas we’re inviting a whole set of brass players to join us, with trumpet, French horn, and trombone also adding their distinctive colors. We’ll present exciting brass-accompanied classics like John Rutter’s Gloria and a gem or two from the late Renaissance, when brass and vocal choirs filled the great sacred spaces of Italy with the sound of cori spezzati, or “separated choirs”. We’ll sprinkle familiar Christmas tunes, quirky and beloved, through the performance, and get you singing with the brass, too.
