Mamma Mia! is nothing less than an international theater phenomenon. It is no wonder that this show has been so successful since it is based on the music of Swedish pop supergroup ABBA. The show features 22 of their best songs, including “Dancing Queen”, “S.O.S.”, “Voulez-Vouz”, “The Winner Takes it All”, and, of course, “Mamma Mia”. These hits are staged into fantastic production numbers and heartfelt, touching moments that make this show an exciting roller coaster ride.
In tribute to the classic music, the flashy costumes and some of the groovy moves are reminiscent of the height of disco while other scenes are fresh and modern. Originally opening in London in 1999, Mamma Mia! has spawned productions in over a dozen countries all over the world and has broken several records (including being ranked among the dozen longest running shows on Broadway). Its popularity surged when a movie adaptation starring Meryl Streep was released in 2008, and it is still going strong. Don’t miss out on your chance to see this new classic!
