splendors of ancient Egypt are the backdrop for Giuseppe Verdi’s mythic love triangle. Ethiopian
princess Aida, now a slave and rival of the Egyptian princess, Amneris, is torn between love
for her country and love for the Egyptian warrior Radames. The lovers try to defy the odds, but
